Critchlow Estate Agents - who recorded £69million of house sales in 2025 - have also steadily been growing their lettings department over the last couple of years and now manage 150 houses throughout North Staffordshire.
Following the introduction of new legislation this year - including the Renters Rights Act - the agency quickly adapted to introduce new processes, which includes a brand new AI technology system for a more efficient service.
“As well as our sales side, our lettings department has undergone a significant transformation this year with a strong focus on compliance and customer service,”
said Director and founder Martin Critchlow.
“The private rental sector has undergone the biggest legislative changes in a generation through the Renters’ Rights Act and our team has proactively reviewed processes and we have maintained regular training to ensure our clients are fully prepared for the evolving landscape.
“We have raised our own compliance standards and invested substantially in new technology to create a service ready for the future, whilst at the same time setting a benchmark locally.”
Martin added:
“To increase our efficiency we have invested in a brand new AI system which enables communication directly to landlords updating them immediately of any tenancy agreements as well as forwarding invoices and statements. As this is also controlled by an app landlords can view exactly what we are up to as an agent when contacting tenants.
“This has been a significant investment, which has enabled us to not only increase our efficiency, but is also a key development in our strategy in going forward.”
Since opening its doors in 2020, the agency has experienced a steady growth year on year, and now with a strong team of eight staff - which comprises of a mix of senior negotiators, sales and lettings managers - a premium range of services are available to equip both those in the residential and commercial markets.
In February this year Critchlow added a Gold Award from the British Property Awards to their accolade for the second year in a row and recently relocated to a larger office premises at their Stoke base in Federation House.
Martin adds:
“We have diversified as we have grown, which has enabled us to continue to expand by bringing in experts who have helped us to navigate shifts in the markets and take up new opportunities.
“Since opening in 2020, we have sold more than 1035 properties, which is amazing and something we are proud to share after starting the business during the covid-pandemic.
“To collect a second Gold Award from the British Property Awards again this year was further testament to our staff and reflects the customer service we provide.
“It is imperative we continue to provide the best service we can as we now push forward into our next 12 months.
“To ensure we are also providing a more efficient service online we have now introduced a brand new website where viewings can be directly booked online.
“Users can also create their own shortlist for properties which they have viewed via the website, which means they can go back and have another look and book in appointments for more information.”
Martin and his team are also committed to supporting the local area and Critchlow Estate Agents have recently become the main sponsors of Kidsgrove Saints Ladies Football Team.
“We are always looking at ways to support our local communities and it is great to be a partner of the ladies football team in which we will be sponsoring for 12 months to help with the provision of playing equipment and kits,”
says Martin.
