Stone based sustainable packaging pioneer Woolcool® is celebrating another national recognition after being named one of the UK’s Best Places to Work 2026 by The Sunday Times.
The award, run in partnership with employee experience platform WorkL, marks the second consecutive year the Staffordshire business has earned a place on the prestigious list.
For Woolcool®, the recognition is more than a workplace accolade. It reflects the people first culture behind a company that has grown into a globally recognised leader in sustainable temperature controlled packaging, while also becoming the first packaging company of its kind to achieve B Corp certification.
The latest announcement comes during a milestone year for the business, which celebrates its 25th birthday in 2026. It also follows Woolcool® being awarded a King’s Award for International Trade earlier this year, adding to previous recognition including the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation in 2018 and the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development in 2022.
The Sunday Times Best Places to Work survey, powered by WorkL, assesses organisations through employee engagement feedback across six areas: Reward & Recognition, Instilling Pride, Information Sharing, Empowerment, Wellbeing and Job Satisfaction.

Woolcool® has continued to invest in its team through training and development opportunities including NVQs, Health & Safety training, FLT certifications and degree programmes. The company also supports wider personal development through Mental Health awareness, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Carbon Literacy training.
Alongside this, employees benefit from initiatives designed to support wellbeing and work life balance, including flexible working, birthday holidays, additional holiday schemes, a cycle to work programme, team events and the Woolcool® rewards initiative.
Josie Morris, CEO of Woolcool®, said:
“Being recognised as one of the UK’s Best Places to Work for a second consecutive year is an incredibly proud moment for all of us at Woolcool®. It is a reflection of the culture our team has built together: supportive, innovative and driven by purpose.
“Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are constantly striving to create an environment where individuals feel valued, respected and empowered to grow, both personally and professionally. This recognition reinforces just how important our team is to everything we achieve.”
“As Woolcool® continues to grow across the UK and international markets, our commitment remains the same: to lead with purpose, support our people and continue building a workplace where everyone can thrive.”
For a Staffordshire company to receive this recognition for a second year running is a significant achievement, and one that underlines Woolcool®’s wider approach to business. Alongside its work in sustainable packaging for the food and pharmaceutical sectors, the company is continuing to show how purpose, innovation and people can sit at the heart of growth.
