UK’s Only Collage Art Conference Returns to Stoke-on-Trent

The UK’s only conference dedicated entirely to collage art will return to Stoke-on-Trent this September.

Contemporary Collage LIVE! 2026 will take place at the Film Theatre at the University of Staffordshire on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September.

Following the success of last year’s event, the conference has been expanded from one day to two. Each morning will feature talks and presentations, followed by practical workshops led by visiting artists in the afternoon.

The programme includes Edinburgh Collage Collective founder Rhed Fawell; award-winning design duo Dr. Me; Nigerian and London-based artist Lawrence Meju; curator Emma Campagnaro; and collage artist and creative tutor Jodie House.

The event is organised by Newcastle-under-Lyme-based Contemporary Collage Magazine in partnership with the university. Launched in 2021, the international print and digital publication is the only European magazine dedicated to collage art.

Magazine founder Les Jones said:

“It’s been my ambition to create an international event that celebrates the incredible work being produced in the medium of collage, and we’re delighted to bring that event to Stoke-on-Trent once again.”

He added that the artists and academics taking part would each bring their own perspective to the growing art form.

The university will also host Jones’s first solo exhibition, which will be open to everyone attending the conference.

Conference and ticket details are available from contemporarycollagemagazine.com.
