The Government sought proposals from local authorities across Staffordshire, with the aim of creating unitary authorities to replace the current two-tier model.

The submission to Downing Street includes data from a local survey conducted by Adam Jogee MP, together with correspondence from constituents who have written to him on the issue.

Adam has also written to the Prime Minister, stressing the importance of clear and ongoing communication with the community throughout the process of LGR.

Adam Jogee MP said:

"I promised the people of Newcastle-under-Lyme that I would listen to them every day. That's why I've delivered a dossier to Downing Street, containing the views, survey data, and correspondence I've gathered from constituents on Local Government Reorganisation.
“The voices, needs, and concerns of the people of Newcastle-under-Lyme should be heard clearly, and I urge my colleagues to engage with our community throughout this process."
