Adam Handley-Burton and Alicia Jallow from Morrisons Leek have enjoyed an outstanding August, raising £5,000 for Marie Curie as part of the successful partnership between Morrisons and the end of life charity. This brings the store's total fundraising contribution to £11,000 since the partnership began.
The team has been fundraising tirelessly, giving up their own time and volunteering on days off to support Marie Curie. As part of the Paint It Yellow campaign, Morrisons Leek organised a variety of community fundraising events, including a Family Fun Day featuring a tombola, children's games and an Aloha Hawaii-themed activity. They also hosted a Bingo, Brew and Bake Afternoon at the local community centre, as well as a Curry Night in partnership with a local Indian restaurant.
Adam Handley-Burton and Alicia Jallow from Morrisons Leek said:
"We have been absolutely blown away by the generosity of our local community in helping us achieve such a fantastic amount. Not only have we raised £5,000 during August, but we have also smashed through the £10,000 target we originally set ourselves for October.
A massive thank you to everyone who donated, helped and represented Morrisons Leek in our fundraising mission."

Every donation makes a real difference to the people we support. We rely on public donations to enable our nurses and healthcare assistants to provide expert end of life care and support, whatever the illness, in the comfort of people's homes and in our Marie Curie Hospices."
Marie Curie supports people living with any terminal illness, including Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, heart, liver, kidney and lung disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease and advanced cancer.
