Momentum VC, launched earlier this year by businessman Mo Chaudry has announced an investment of £300,000 in Stafford based firm Renticy.
Renticy which was founded by Rob Flowers in 2024, has transformed the way the traditional and manually intensive rental sector works. The company offers trials and rentals at point of sale with Renticy’s all in one digital platform. It gives customers the option to try an item and purchase or simply rent and return.
Over 100 businesses and brands are already operating with Renticy, including sector leading national brands. Companies working with them include outdoor equipment, music, sports and cycling and men’s fashion chains.
Mo who launched the investment fund in February, risking £5million of his own personal wealth said:
"Making Momentum VC’s first investment is a pivotal moment and I am delighted. Renticy stood out because it has a strong business plan, a clear vision for growth and a business model with real global potential."
Just as importantly, Rob has shown total commitment and conviction in his ambition to build Renticy into a worldwide enterprise. When we invest, we invest in people as well as businesses, and I believe in both Rob and his company.
He added:
"I'm excited to see what happens next. I genuinely believe Renticy has the capacity to become a global business and I'm looking forward to being part of that journey."
Founder Rob Flowers said he was delighted:
“Having the backing of Momentum Capital and Mo Chaudry’s personal support is a huge vote of confidence in our business and our future plans."
He added:
“As we enter this exciting growth phase, Momentum Capital’s investment will help accelerate our plans and create new opportunities as well as supporting the onboarding of new flagship retail partners.
We have ambitious plans for the future, and having Momentum Capital’s support gives us the platform and confidence to achieve them."
When the scheme first launched more than 140 businesses expressed interest in Momentum Capital and it’s not too late to apply to be considered.
Rob added:
“One of the biggest challenges for any entrepreneur looking to grow a business is access to capital. Without funding and the right support network, it can be incredibly difficult to sustain growth.
Momentum Capital is a great initiative because it provides both investment and expertise to businesses with real potential. I believe it is a model that other regions across the country will look to replicate because it has the power to drive entrepreneurship, create jobs and strengthen local economies."
