Longton was full of colour, laughter and community spirit for Longton Carnival & Pig Walk Parade 2026, held today 26th April 2026, as huge crowds gathered to enjoy a bright and busy day in the town.

With the sun shining and temperatures rising above 20°C, the event brought happy faces, great food, good music and a real sense of celebration to Longton. Local businesses were busy throughout the day, with visitors making the most of everything on offer.

The parade was one of the highlights, with creative handmade costumes adding fun, imagination and character to the streets. It was a joyful sight and a reminder of how much local events can bring people together.

The day was really well organised by Urban Wilderness, with a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish. From the food and music to the crowds and costumes, Longton Carnival and Pig Walk Parade felt like a real celebration of local pride.

Longton is also running for the UK’s first Town of Culture award, a national competition launched by the UK Government through DCMS. The winning town will receive £3 million to spend on a cultural programme, delivered in 2028, celebrating what makes that place unique.
