The offer applies to those attending the Submariners’ Remembrance Service over the weekend of 31 Oct – 1 Nov as well as all services of Remembrance on Sunday 8 November, including the national service at the Cenotaph in London.
Free travel is available to serving military personnel, veterans and Bereaved Travel for Remembrance 2026 complimentary ticket holders.
The rail operator is also providing free journeys for Royal British Legion fundraisers travelling to the capital for the London Poppy Appeal on Thursday 29 October.
Employees at LNR have raised more than £2,700 for the Royal British Legion by ordering specially made metallic pin badges to proudly display on their uniforms, which were designed by a colleague at LNR.
Jonny Wiseman, customer experience and commercial director at LNR, said: “It is so important to pay our respects to those who served and those who continue to serve. We are proud to play our part in ensuring military personnel, veterans and bereaved family members can attend commemorative events for free.”
The free travel offer is available to serving military personnel in uniform or in possession of a current MOD90 Ministry of Defence-issued identity card. Veterans can show a Veterans Railcard, Veterans Oyster card, Ministry of Defence-issued Veterans ID or other appropriate proof of veteran status. Bereaved family members must carry their named complimentary ticket and photographic ID to show staff if asked.
Serving personnel and veterans attending the Submariners’ Remembrance Service events can travel free to any London Terminal station on Saturday 31 October or Sunday 1 November, returning on Sunday 1 November.
Serving personnel and veterans attending the Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph can travel free to any London Terminal station on Saturday 7 or Sunday 8 November, returning on Sunday 8 November only. Free return travel to Services of Remembrance elsewhere in Great Britain will be available on Sunday 8 November only.

Why the Signal exists
Real news takes time. Thanks for taking yours.
You've just read a story that took time to get right. No clickbait, no racing to be first, no ads chasing you down the page.
I started The Staffordshire Signal because I got fed up of local news that chased clicks instead of stories. We're independent, not-for-profit, IMPRESS-regulated and owned right here, so we answer to nobody but you.
The honest bit: local news only survives if local people choose it. If we don't, it goes.
