This is it. The last few hours to pledge and get something back for it, before the reward tiers disappear at 5pm today. I want to be honest about what that actually means before I ask you for anything.
A year or so ago I said I was going to build something for Staffordshire. No investors, no shareholders, just a hard slog and a belief that this county deserved a newsroom that actually belonged to it. That's still happening, today or not, the campaign doesn't vanish at 5pm, it moves to Always On, so you can still support us afterwards. What today decides is whether you get something back for it, and how much we can do sooner rather than later.
What you actually get, before 5pm
From £5, you get a full year of Signal Supporter membership as a thank you, worth £24, early access to everything we make, and first look at every Signal TV video before anyone else sees it. Higher tiers get your name credited at the end of the first documentaries our students make, a permanent little mark on something new. None of this is available once we move to Always On.
What businesses get, before 5pm
If you're a business, today's rates are genuinely one off. Advertising across the magazine, Signal Weekly, Signal TV and the website, at a heavily discounted price that won't exist again once Signal TV has an established audience. You're getting in before we're a known quantity, while it's still cheap to be part of the beginning.
Where it goes
The Staffordshire Signal is a not for profit CIC, so none of this goes in my pocket. Every penny goes towards camera and editing kit for our students, towards giving the team the time to actually cover more of this county, and towards the app itself. And it stays here, spent in Staffordshire, on Staffordshire.
87 people have already backed it, knowing full well I'm not sitting on some reserve to top it up if we fall short. We're not all or nothing either, whatever's raised, we keep, so nothing given today is wasted whatever the final total looks like.
Last hours for rewards
Back the Crowdfunder before 5pm
Can't pledge? Tell one person, send it to your mate, share it on social media, on your story, or tell a colleague about it at work. That all helps more than you'd think.!
Thank you for being part of the slog.
Jenna
