The Care UK home on Ashby Road will open its doors on Saturday 29th August from 2pm to 4pm, with local residents invited to enter their dogs into a selection of fun categories.

Competitions will include waggiest tail, best veteran, best trick and best puppy, giving dogs of different ages and talents the chance to take home a prize.

An experienced Crufts dog handler will be joining dog loving residents from Arkall Manor to judge the competition and meet the visiting pooches.

Winning dogs will receive treats and certificates.

“We’re excited to be inviting the local community and furry friends to our dog show for a day of tail-wagging fun.

“Here at Arkall Manor, we’re always looking for new and exciting events to bring residents and the community together, and with many puppy-loving residents in the home, hosting our own canine competition seemed like a no-brainer.

“We are very much looking forward to meeting lots of new faces, of the two and four-legged kind!”

Samukaliso Marozo, Home Manager at Arkall Manor

Entry into the dog show costs £2 per dog.

Arkall Manor provides permanent and respite residential and dementia care. The home also has its own café, cinema room and hair salon, alongside spaces for residents to relax and take part in activities.
