Withers & Rogers is one of Europe’s largest dedicated IP law firms, offering a comprehensive service that supports businesses in securing IP rights and helps create long-term strategies around innovation, invention and due diligence.

Working with the Growth Hub, Withers & Rogers will be offering businesses a free one-to-one introductory call that can help businesses to identify if they have any potential IP opportunities or challenges.

Gemma McGeough, Partner at Withers & Rogers said:

> “We’re delighted to be involved in this initiative because it creates a valuable opportunity to help ambitious businesses better understand and protect their intellectual property.

> “By working alongside the Growth Hub, we can support innovators at an early stage and give them greater confidence to identify, secure and make the most of the ideas that set them apart.”

The sessions are open to established businesses, start-ups and pre-launch entrepreneurs and will offer insight into key topics including patents, trademarks and designs and trade secrets.

Withers & Rogers operate across a wide variety of sectors including biotechnology, cell and gene therapy, clean technology, robotics and autonomous systems, defence, digital video and audio, food and drink, oil and gas, medical technology and higher education.

Growth Hub Manager Rachel Wood added:

> “Intellectual Property is a very specialised area and it’s something that many people find daunting – it can even prevent people from launching their own business because they’re unsure about the law.

> “Our partnership with Withers & Rogers is an opportunity to provide businesses and entrepreneurs across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent with the chance to get an expert overview of the potential advantages and pitfalls of IP in relation to their product or service.

> “It’s part of a wide range of support available via the Growth Hub and we’d encourage anyone who is running a business, or who has a start-up idea, to get in touch and find out more about the services, funding and advice on offer.”
