Honey Box Series 9 Ends on a High with Music Awards Celebration at The Rigger
Honey Box Live will bring Series 9 to a close with a special Music Awards celebration show at The Rigger in Newcastle-under-Lyme on Sunday 12 April, featuring standout artists recognised at the Music Awards of Staffordshire and Cheshire.

The final episode of the series will showcase Eve Buckley, winner of Best Solo Act, Sarah Riches, finalist for Best Solo Act, and K-Estate, nominees for the Best New Act Award. The event marks the culmination of another packed season of Honey Box’s live music broadcast series, celebrating some of the region’s most exciting grassroots talent.
Doors open at 4pm, with the live broadcast beginning at 5pm, as Honey Box returns for a second time to The Rigger, the project’s hometown venue in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
The finale brings to a close a touring series that has taken Honey Box across the Midlands, broadcasting live performances from a range of venues including Keele University Clock House Courtyard, Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek, Blue Note Nightclub in Derby, 2Funky Complex in Leicester, Wolverhampton Arts Centre, and hometown shows at The Rigger.

Across the series, Honey Box has continued its mission to showcase and document grassroots music, featuring 48 musicians, 19 live acts, and producing 72 individual band performance videos.
“Series 9 has been a huge celebration of the creativity and talent we have in this region,” said Peter Herbert of Honey Box Live.
“From outdoor shows at Keele to venues across the Midlands, we’ve had the chance to work with an incredible mix of artists and partners. Bringing the final show back home to The Rigger for a Music Awards special feels like the perfect way to close the series and celebrate the artists who are making such an impact on the local music scene.”
Alongside the live performances, the Honey Box programme has also supported artist development through the Amplifying Grassroots Talent project, funded by Arts Council England.
Across the series, musicians and creatives have taken part in a range of development workshops including Songwriting: Craft and Context, Marketing for Music, Working with Live Audio, and Building a Sustainable Fanbase.
The programme has also hosted a series of music industry talks featuring BBC Introducing DJ Andrew Marston, Max Thomas of Skinny Lister and director of Bullfrog Arts, Yasin El Ashrafi of HQ Recordings in Leicester, and Ricky Hill of Sync R Music, giving emerging artists the chance to hear directly from professionals working across the industry.
Fans can expect the unique Honey Box pop-up TV studio experience, where live performances are recorded in front of an audience and shared with a growing online community. With award-recognised artists taking the stage, the finale promises a fitting send-off to a series dedicated to celebrating the best of the region’s grassroots music. The Series 9 finale and Music Awards Special takes place Sunday 12 April at The Rigger, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
